Saudi Arabia has a large traditional-tailoring industry (thobe, bisht, ghutra, abaya) plus growing modern demand for suit alteration, hotel uniform, oilfield uniform (Aramco, SABIC) and bespoke ladies’ wear. Riyadh souks (Souk Al Zal), Jeddah’s Al Balad and Dammam’s Al Qurayyat have dozens of tailoring workshops recruiting skilled tailors from Bangladesh, Nepal, India and Sri Lanka.
Selected candidates are employed directly by the tailoring workshop or uniform factory on a 2-year renewable Saudi work contract under Saudi Labour Law, with salary paid via the Wage Protection System (WPS), plus shared accommodation, meals or a meal allowance, medical insurance, annual leave and end-of-service gratuity.
